Pennsylvania residents have filed a class action lawsuit, accusing the Honda Motor Company of unauthorized wiretapping on its website.

Plaintiffs Adam Fajge and Wendy Babcock filed a class action lawsuit in federal court against American Honda Motor, Co., citing allegations of invasion of privacy in violation of the Pennsylvania Wiretap Act.

According to court documents, Honda's website records visitors' electronic communications without their consent. Honda has allegedly contracted with a third-party company, Salesforce Inc., to provide software that enables the chat function on its website. According to the plaintiffs, this software allows Salesforce to intercept and record the electronic communications of website visitors in real-time. The plaintiffs, Pennsylvania residents, claim that this action violates the Pennsylvania Wiretapping and Electronic Surveillance Control Act.

The plaintiffs contend that their communications were intercepted and disclosed to Salesforce without their knowledge or consent while using the chat function on the Honda website. They argue that the defendant knowingly facilitated the wiretapping of communications by engaging Salesforce's services.

The plaintiffs have demanded a jury trial to seek certification of the class along with an award for monetary damages plus interest, court costs, attorney fees, and other relief.

They are represented in this case by attorney L. Timothy Fisher, of Bursor & Fisher P.A. in Walnut Creek.
