A class action lawsuit has been filed against global freight management firm CEVA Logistics, accusing the company of allegedly shorting worker pay, among other alleged violations of California labor law.

The lawsuit was initially filed in January in San Mateo County Superior Court, but was removed to San Francisco federal court on Feb. 20.

The company, which is headquartered in Marseilles, France, has denied the claims in the lawsuit.

The suit was filed by named plaintiff Freddy Espinoza on behalf of himself and all others allegedly similarly situated.

The complaint alleges that CEVA Logistics failed to provide meal periods, rest periods, and premium wages for missed meal or rest periods. It also accuses the company of not paying minimum wage for all hours worked, not correctly paying overtime wages, not reimbursing necessary business expenses, providing inaccurate written wage statements, and failing to pay final wages following employment termination.

Espinoza seeks to recover unpaid wages, restitution, civil and statutory penalties for himself and others who have worked for CEVA in California.

The plaintiffs are represented by attorneys Shaun Setareh, Thomas Segal and Farrah Grant, of the Setareh Law Group, of Beverly Hills.
