In the case of M.Y. versus R.Y., filed in the Court of Appeal of the State of California, Third Appellate District, Sacramento, with the court case ID C098260 on April 16, 2024, defendant R.Y. (Wife) is attempting to appeal from the renewal of a domestic violence restraining order (DVRO), as well as orders concerning child custody and support.

The trial court initially issued a one-year DVRO protecting plaintiff M.Y. (Husband) from Wife on August 6, 2020. As part of that order, Husband was granted sole legal and physical custody of their children. The DVRO was renewed for an additional five years on November 5, 2021.

On January 24, 2023, a hearing took place regarding Wife's motion to modify child custody and visitation. This matter was continued for further hearing on March 29, 2023. On February 17, 2023, another hearing occurred over Wife's motion to modify child support where she was ordered to pay $870 per month in child support.

The plaintiff is seeking affirmation of the trial court's orders regarding the DVRO and child support while dismissing parts of her appeal related to non-appealable orders.
