In a recent court filing, Joel Marcel Mariano has lodged a complaint for damages against Marcus Jay Yarborough and Steven Dale Guthrie. The lawsuit was filed on May 15, 2024, in the Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento.

According to the complaint, Mariano alleges that on December 5, 2022, he was driving his 2019 Tesla Model 3 northbound on West Stockton Boulevard in Elk Grove when his vehicle was struck by vehicles driven by Yarborough and Guthrie. The defendants were operating a 2019 Nissan Sentra and a 2018 Pierce Fire Truck respectively. Mariano claims that both defendants negligently managed and operated their vehicles, leading to the collision.

The plaintiff asserts that as a result of the accident, he sustained significant injuries affecting his health and well-being. "Plaintiff was hurt and injured in her health, strength and activity," states the complaint. Mariano further contends that these injuries have caused him ongoing physical and mental suffering and are likely to result in permanent disability.

Mariano is seeking compensation for general damages exceeding $25,000. Additionally, he is requesting reimbursement for medical expenses incurred due to the accident as well as future medical costs. The plaintiff also claims loss of earnings due to being unable to attend his usual occupation following the incident.

Representing Joel Marcel Mariano is Joseph A. Androvich from Brelsford, Androvich & White law firm based in Sacramento. The case has been assigned Case No: #240-009S1714.
