A Sacramento man is seeking justice after a traffic accident left him with severe injuries and lasting disabilities. Richard Antonio Conrado, Jr. filed a complaint on July 19, 2024, in the Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento, against Statie Parvu and other unnamed defendants.

According to the complaint, Conrado was setting up traffic cones on the right shoulder of northbound Interstate 5 near the Sutterville Road exit on September 7, 2022. At that time, Parvu was operating a 2016 Toyota Sienna with the consent and knowledge of other defendants when the vehicle collided with Conrado. The plaintiff alleges that Parvu and the other defendants negligently managed and operated the vehicle, leading to his injuries.

The complaint details how Conrado suffered significant physical harm due to the incident. "Plaintiff was hurt and injured in health, strength, and activity," reads the filing. The injuries have resulted in ongoing mental and physical pain, suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, and are expected to cause permanent disability. Furthermore, Conrado has incurred substantial medical expenses and has been unable to work since the accident.

Conrado’s legal team argues that all named defendants were responsible for his injuries through various forms of negligence including vicarious liability, negligent supervision, premises liability, and willful misconduct among others. They assert that these parties acted within their roles as agents or employees of each other at all relevant times.

In terms of relief sought from the court, Conrado is asking for general damages exceeding $35,000 as well as compensation for lost earnings and earning capacity. He also seeks reimbursement for medical expenses and other incidental costs related to his treatment. Additionally, he requests prejudgment interest on any awarded damages calculated from when the cause of action arose according to California Civil Code.

Representing Conrado are attorneys John T. Stralen and George Chryssafis from Clayeo C. Arnold Professional Law Corporation based in Sacramento. The case has been assigned Case ID 240014402 in front of an unspecified judge.
