Paul Cummins filed the complaint in the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco, on September 4, 2024, against Dr. Kevin Denny and his practice, Denny Eye & Laser Center.
According to the lawsuit, Cummins engaged Dr. Denny and his clinic to perform cataract surgery on his left eye on July 25, 2023. The procedure took place on September 6, 2023. However, Cummins alleges that Dr. Denny and his team performed the surgery negligently and recklessly, resulting in irreversible damage to his vision. The complaint also includes unnamed defendants referred to as "Does 1 through 100," whose identities are currently unknown but are believed by Cummins to have played a role in causing his injuries through their actions as agents or employees within the scope of their employment at Denny Eye & Laser Center.
