Mia Brieanna Harrison has taken legal action against a major automobile manufacturer, alleging serious breaches of warranty and consumer protection laws. On December 26, 2024, Harrison filed a complaint in the Superior Court of California, County of Sacramento, against Ford Motor Company. The lawsuit claims that Ford failed to honor express and implied warranties under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act after selling her a defective vehicle.

According to the complaint, Mia Brieanna Harrison purchased a 2019 Ford Fusion Energi on December 22, 2022. She alleges that the vehicle had numerous defects that impaired its use, value, and safety. Despite multiple repair attempts by authorized facilities, these issues remained unresolved. The plaintiff accuses Ford Motor Company of failing to replace or refund the vehicle as required by law. "Defendants violated the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act by failing to conform the Vehicle to the express written warranties within a reasonable number of repair attempts," states the complaint.

Harrison's lawsuit outlines three main causes of action: breach of express warranty, breach of implied warranty under the Song-Beverly Act, and violation of California Business and Professions Code § 17200 for unfair competition. The complaint details how Ford allegedly engaged in unlawful business practices by knowingly selling vehicles with defective components and performing negligent repairs. "Defendant intentionally placed the Subject Vehicle, with defective components, into the stream of commerce," it claims.

The plaintiff seeks various forms of relief from the court. These include rescission of the sales contract, restitution for all payments made towards the vehicle, actual damages amounting to $40,499.38, civil penalties under the Song-Beverly Act totaling twice her actual damages, and attorney’s fees. Additionally, she requests injunctive relief to prevent further violations by Ford and an order requiring them to account for profits gained through alleged unfair competition.

Representing Mia Brieanna Harrison are attorneys Ryan K. Marden from Marden Law Inc., and Neal F. Morrow III from MFS Legal Inc., both based in California. The case is identified as Case No.: 2aiwOvVaoAas in front of an unnamed judge at this time.
