Andrea Quinata-Sandoval has filed a lawsuit against her former employer, a California nonprofit corporation, alleging negligent hiring, supervision, and retention of an employee, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and constructive discharge. The complaint was submitted by Andrea Quinata-Sandoval on January 10, 2025, in the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara against Pacific Clinics and Isiah Johnson-Webb Jr.
The case centers around Andrea Quinata-Sandoval's experiences while working as a Crisis Intervention Specialist at Pacific Clinics. She claims that she was partnered with Isiah Johnson-Webb Jr., whose reckless behavior created an unsafe work environment. According to the complaint, Johnson-Webb drove recklessly during their shifts and consistently ignored safety protocols. Despite numerous complaints about his conduct from Quinata-Sandoval and other employees, management allegedly failed to take corrective action. On February 2, 2024, Keith Barnes observed Johnson-Webb's misconduct but no measures were taken to address it.
Quinata-Sandoval reported these incidents to her supervisors on February 16 and 17 but felt her concerns were dismissed. She alleges that the company had previously received complaints about Johnson-Webb from other female coworkers who felt unsafe around him due to similar issues. The lack of response from management left her feeling unprotected in what she describes as a toxic work environment.
In her lawsuit, Quinata-Sandoval seeks compensatory damages for lost wages and benefits, general damages for emotional distress, punitive damages for the defendants' alleged malicious conduct, statutory penalties under various labor codes, attorney fees, and other relief deemed appropriate by the court.
