State Farm General Insurance Company seeks removal following claims of policy denial

SAN FRANCISCO— State Farm General Insurance Company is seeking removal of civil action from a case alleging policy denial.

State Farm General Insurance Company filed a request of removal on Dec. 14, 2015 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, seeking removal from this action.

According to the lawsuit, Floyd Castro filed a complaint against State Farm General Insurance Company on Nov. 18, 2015 in the state of California, demanding a claim for policy benefits of over $70,000 following a break-in. Castro claims State Farm denied the benefit, causing him to seek attorney's fees and special damages. State Farm is seeking removal from the Calfornia state court as they are an Illinois-based corporation.

State Farm General Insurance Company seeks removal from this court in the state of California. They are represented by Stephen M. Hayes, Stephen R. Ellingson and Jamie A. Radack of Hayes, Scott, Bonino, Ellingson & McLay LLP in Redwood City.
