Intellectual Property Shareholder Brent Yamashita will speak on the panel “DeepSeek Disruption to Open Source AI Models” at the Annual Silicon Valley Meeting hosted by IP Counsel Café. This year’s conference, “American Innovation in Persistently Turbulent Times,” will be hosted at the Computer History Museum from Tuesday, May 6th through Thursday, May 8th, featuring professional panels, strategy discussions and live artificial intelligence (AI) demos. Attendees will be able to discuss evolving challenges facing IP departments in the midst of economic uncertainty and rapid changes to generative AI amongst industry peers and leaders.
Brent and his fellow panelists will discuss the rise and development of DeepSeek, the Chinese AI startup positioned as a main competitor against other OpenAI platforms. Specifically, the panel will review the legal ramifications associated with the use of DeepSeek and its generated content, and how its development will change legislation regarding AI.
