Truck driver sues over alleged injuries

SAN FRANCISCO – A Biggs truck driver is suing a Texas corporation after he alleges he was injured while making a delivery.

Jeffrie Wright filed a complaint on March 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Sonoma Pacific Inc. and Does 1-10, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 21, 2015, he was severely injured while assisting the defendants' forklift driver to unload his semitrailer at its Shellville location. The suit states that each unit in the plaintiff's load weighed 10,000 pounds, while the defendants' forklifts could only lift 4,000 pounds. The plaintiff holds Sonoma Pacific Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly train their employees, and that as a result his foot was severely injured.

The plaintiff seeks the following: actual damages of $1 million, statutory damages to be proven at trial, legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just and proper. He is represented by Arturo A. Marquez of the Law Office of Arturo A. Marquez in Marysville.
