SAN FRANCISCO – A California landlord is suing an Illinois corporation after it allegedly vacated the rental property before its lease expired.

Hakam Misson filed a complaint on March 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Cal-X Trans Inc., and Does 1-10, citing breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he suffered damages as a result of unpaid rent. The plaintiff holds Cal-X Trans Inc., and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly breached their contract with plaintiff when they suddenly vacated the premises in February and refused to pay rent until expiration of their lease according to their contract, which was until March 31, 2018.

The plaintiff seeks the following: damages for lost rent, maintenance charges and insurance in the amount of $144,087.84; unpaid rent in the amount of $5,147.80; interest rate of 10 percent in the sum of $16,572.89; reimbursement for improvements to the facilities as requested by the defendant, reimbursement commission paid to the broker in the amount of $6,020.35, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just and proper. He is represented by Sunita Kapoor LLM of Law Offices of Sunita Kapoor in Danville.
