SACRAMENTO – A technology company is suing Fairfield woman and her business over allegations she distributed unauthorized copies of software.
Microsoft Corp. filed a complaint on April 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against Natalie Rezac, doing business as Wholesale Software and also known as Genuinewholesalesoftware.com, and Does 1-5, citing alleged copyright infringement, unfair competition, unjust enrichment and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered monetary damages and lost profits. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly marketed and distributed copies of plaintiff's software without its approval.
The plaintiff seeks order from the court to impound all counterfeit and infringing copies of plaintiff's software, disable domains used by the defendants, reimbursement of all profits made from distribution of infringing copies of plaintiff's software, all damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just.
