Former employee alleges Gild Inc. did not pay overtime, provide meal breaks

Law money 06

SAN FRANCISCO – A former employee alleges that an employer failed to fairly compensate its employees for work rendered.

Anna Woodard filed a complaint on May 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Gild Inc. citing violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was employed by the defendant from Jan. 11, 2013, through January. She alleges she worked for more than 40 hours but was not paid any overtime wages or was given adequate meal breaks during her employment. The plaintiff holds Gild Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay overtime wages to plaintiff as well as provide itemized statements for all hours worked.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, liquidated damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Mark C. Thomas of Brownstein Thomas LLP in San Francisco.
