SAN FRANCISCO – A media company in Texas alleges that an unknown internet user has illegally distributed copies of its movie.

Dallas Buyers Club LLC filed a complaint on June 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Doe-73.92.201.24 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it sustained damages to its business as a result of its movie being distributed without its authority. The plaintiff holds Doe-73.92.201.24 responsible because the defendant allegedly used the software BitTorrent to download and distribute copies of plaintiff's motion picture, "Dallas Buyers Club."

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoining the defendant from infringing its rights, statutory damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. It is represented by James S. Davis of James S. Davis Attorney at Law in Chula Vista.
