SAN FRANCISCO – A popular online classified advertisement site is seeking declaration from the court over allegations it infringed a patent.

Craigslist Inc. filed a complaint for declaratory relief on June 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against EveryMD.com LLC.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the defendant has accused it of infringing the defendant's '047 patent in regards to online local classified ads. The plaintiff alleges that they have not infringed the patent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment it does not infringe the '047 patent, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Perry J. Viscounty of Latham & Watkins LLP in Menlo Park and Ryan R. Owens of Latham & Watkins LLP in Costa Mesa.
