SAN JOSE – A Virginia corporation alleges a Santa Clara has infringed several of its patents.
Straight Path IP Group Inc. filed a complaint on June 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, San Jose Division against Avaya Inc.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages as a result of its patents regarding point-to-point network communication being infringed by the defendant. The plaintiff holds Avaya Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly manufactured and distributed products that infringe several patents owned by plaintiff.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages plus interest, treble damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Marc A. Fenster, Jeffrey Z.Y. Liao and Neil A. Rubin of Russ, August & Kabat in Los Angeles.
