SACRAMENTO – A class-action lawsuit has been filed against the city of Citrus Heights over allegations it did not pay employees overtime wages.
Jessica Drobish filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on June 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against the city of Citrus Heights alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours for the defendant but was not paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds the city of Citrus Heights responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay plaintiff at a rate of time-and-one-half for all her hours worked in excess of 40 hours per workweek.
The plaintiff seeks unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, injunctive relief, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by David E. Mastagni, Isaac S. Stevens and Ace T. Tate of Mastagni Holstedt APC in Sacramento.
