Gold Value International Textile Inc. files suit alleging infringement of fabric design

Copyright 03

LOS ANGELES – A fashion industry company alleges that two other companies made similarly designed fabric as its copyrighted designs.

Gold Value International Textile Inc. individually and doing business as Fiesta Fabric, filed a complaint on July 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Anna Sui Corp., Net-A-Porter LLC and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business as a result of its copyrighted design being used without its authority. The plaintiff holds Anna Sui Corp., Net-A-Porter LLC and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly manufactured and distributed fabrics that bear similar designs to plaintiff's products.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendant from further infringing plaintiff's design, award plaintiff all profits derived from the allegedly infringing act, statutory damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott A. Burroughs, Trevor W. Barrett and Justin M. Gomes of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
