Forever 21 accused of using fabric design without permission

LOS ANGELES – The creator of artwork used in textiles for fashion alleges a clothing store used a knit design without permission.

Wongab Corp. filed a complaint on July 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Forever 21 Inc. alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages as the result of its proprietary design being used without its consent by the defendants. The plaintiff holds Forever 21 Inc., and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly manufactured and sold clothing that featured unauthorized designs.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendant, award plaintiff all profits, award plaintiff enhanced and elevated damages, treble damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott A. Burroughs, Trevor W. Barrett and Justin M. Gomes of Doniger/ Burroughs in Venice.
