Zurn Industries claims company manufactures infringing valve parts

Patents 09

LOS ANGELES – A Pennsylvania company with a place of business in Paso Robles claims a North Carolina company distributes allegedly infringing products.

Zurn Industries LLC filed a complaint on July 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against Conbraco Industries Inc. alleging patent infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages as the result of its patented technology being infringed. The plaintiff holds Conbraco Industries Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly manufactures and sells the Apollo Double Check Valve Backflow Preventer Model Nos. DCLF4AR and DCDALF4AR, which the plaintiff claims infringes its '772 patent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to permanently enjoin the defendant, award financial relief to plaintiff, increase defendant's liability for damages up to three times the amount found, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. It is represented by David R. Cross and Michael T. Piery of Quarles & Brady LLP in Milwaukee and Cristina D. Hernandez of The Long Law Group PC in Pasadena.
