SACRAMENTO – A Shingle Springs corporation alleges a Florida company and an individual attempted to extort money from it for a domain name.

SNUBA International Inc. filed a complaint on Aug. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against Kirk Green and Wheels-2-Go LLC, alleging violation of the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the defendants are competitors of the plaintiff. SNUBA operates the website snuba.com and trademarked its name in 1988, the suit states. The plaintiff holds Green and Wheels-2-Go LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly wrongfully obtained the snubas.com domain and tried to sell it to plaintiff in July, and tried to profit from SNUBA's mark with the domain name.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks award actual, compensatory, punitive and other damages; disgorgement of benefits; injunction; all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Sophy Tabandeh of New Man Du Wors LLP in Santa Monica.
