LeagueSharp operators facing suit against League of Legends game owners

LOS ANGELES – The makers of the League of Legends game have filed a suit against the operators of an alleged cheating service called LeagueSharp.

Riot Games Inc. filed a complaint on Aug. 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Stefan Delgado Argote, also known as "Ohm" and "Burberry"; Matthias Oltmann, also known as "Joduskame," "Rolle3k," and "Sheppard"; Tyrone Tom Pauer, also known as "Beaving"; Chachani Misti Y Pichu Pichu S.R.L. and Does 1-10 alleging trafficking in circumvention devices, unfair competition and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its gaming community. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly sell technologies that allow players to have an unfair advantage against other players in plaintiff's game League of Legends.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, require the defendant to shut down LeagueSharp, order the defendant to deliver to plaintiff any and all materials that allegedly violate any of plaintiff's rights, statutory damages, exemplary and punitive damages, restitution, and any other relief as the court deems just.
