Federal government files suit to reclaim allegedly unpaid college loans

LOS ANGELES — The United States of America has filed suit against an individual over allegations of unpaid college debt.

The United States of America filed a complaint Aug. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Chidozie Ozoemena, also known as Chidozie E. Ozoemena, alleging that the individual failed to pay off debt to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages for the unpaid debt. The plaintiff holds Chidozie Ozoemena responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff despite its demand to do so.

The plaintiff seeks the principal amount of $2,669.86 plus interest in the sum of $5,501.66 with interest accruing thereafter at 8 percent per year, and all legal fees. The plaintiff is represented by Jacquelyne M. Nguyen of Law Office of Jacquelyne M. Nguyen in Costa Mesa.
