Couple alleges VA hospital failed to diagnose aortic aneurysm

Medical malpractice 05

LOS ANGELES – A Palos Verdes Estates couple alleges a government health care facility failed to properly diagnose the husband's symptoms, resulting in further medical care.

Eugene Beau Michael Laporte Jr. and Sharyl W. Laporte filed a complaint on Aug. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against United States of America and Does 1-10 alleging malpractice.

According to the complaint, Eugene Beau Michael Laporte Jr. reported to the defendant's Veterans Affairs hospital in Long Beach in May 2014 complaining of chest pains, difficulty breathing and other ailments. Laporte in the sum of $250,000, medical expenses, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Douglas N. Harty of Law Offices of Douglas N.
