LOS ANGELES — A group of individuals and trustees have filed suit against Southwest Group CA Inc. and Does 1-10 for allegedly barring the plaintiffs from conducting a business audit on the defendant.

Brent Beasley, et al filed a complaint on Aug. 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against the defendants, alleging they violated sections of Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that Brent Beasley et al, acting as trustees/trust funds, requested access to the defendants' business records for the purpose of conducting an audit, but the defendants allegedly refused to allow them even though the plaintiffs claim the defendants were bound by a written affirmation agreement with the Union. The plaintiffs hold Southwest Group CA Inc and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to allow the plaintiffs to complete the audit.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendants, attorney's fees, costs of action and other relief as the court deems proper. They are represented by Jodi Siegner of DeCarlo & Shanley in Los Angeles.
