Hovertrax makers allegedly infringed Chinese company's patent

LOS ANGELES – A Chinese company is accusing the Cerritos makers of Hovertrax of patent infringement.

Hangzhou Chic Intelligent Technology Co. LTD filed a complaint on Aug. 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Razor USA LLC alleging patent infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages from having its '155 patent regarding an electric balance vehicle infringed. The plaintiff holds Razor USA LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly imports and offer for sale hoverboards that infringes at least one claim of plaintiff's patents.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendant from further infringing plaintiff's patents, pay plaintiff lost profits, supplemental damages, increased damages up to three times, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just.
