Woodland Hills woman claims disability benefits were wrongfully terminated

Insurance 01

LOS ANGELES – A Woodland Hills woman alleges her disability benefits were wrongfully terminated.

Judi Delbourgo filed a complaint on Sept. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Cigna Life Insurance Co. of New York and Rabbinical Assembly Inc., Long Term Disability Plan citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she became disabled and was initially being paid disability benefits until the benefits were terminated by the defendants in May 2015. The plaintiff holds Cigna Life Insurance Co. of New York and Rabbinical Assembly Inc. Long Term Disability Plan responsible because the defendants allegedly claim that plaintiff no longer met the plan definition of being disabled and terminated her benefits.

The plaintiff seeks payment of disability benefits to plaintiff, reinstatement, all legal fees and interest and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Glenn R. Kantor and Andrew M. Kantor of Kantor & Kantor LLP in Northridge.
