LOS ANGELES – A San Luis Obispo County woman alleges her insurer did not honor her claim for disability benefits.
Lacey Clifton filed a complaint on Sept. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Anthem Life Insurance Co. and Does 1 through 10 alleging violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she became disabled but was denied disability benefits by the defendant. The plaintiff holds Anthem Life Insurance Co. and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly breached its contractual obligations by failing to honor her claim.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks payment of past due benefits plus interest, reinstatement, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by John W. Tower of Law Office of John W. Tower in Encinitas.
