Man claims Roundup exposure caused illness

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County individual claims that a Missouri business failed to include the potential harmful effects of an an herbicide in its label.

Matteo Anthony Russo filed a complaint on Oct. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Monsanto Co. alleging failure to warn, negligence, product liability and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered injuries from being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which was purportedly caused by being exposed to the herbicide Roundup and the active ingredient glyphosate. The plaintiff holds Monsanto Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly made false claims in promoting that its product is safe.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, economic damages, punitive/exemplary damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just.
