LOS ANGELES – A Moorpark consumer alleges a defective throttle in his pickup truck caused a single-vehicle accident.

Toros K. Panossian filed a complaint on Oct. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Ford Motor Co. and Does 1 through 25 alleging strict product liability and negligent design, manufacture and distribution and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in April 2016, the throttle in his 2003 Ford Ranger failed to idle, which caused the truck to operate out of control and crash into a brick wall. The plaintiff holds Ford Motor Co. and Does 1 through 25 responsible because the defendants allegedly designed a dangerous accelerator pedal assembly that was susceptible to fail to return to idle position.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks punitive damages, all legal fees and interest and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Natalie Panossian-Bassler of Law Office of Natalie Panossian-Bassler in Murrieta.
