LOS ANGELES – A Washington State man alleges he was injured when he was attacked by another man in Manhattan Beach.
Stephen Hansen filed a complaint on Oct. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Dylan Maximilian Goodman and Does 1 through 100 alleging battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in March 2015, he was struck from behind by the defendant, knocking him unconscious, and that the defendant continued to strike him after he was down. He alleges the incident broke his jaw in six places, broke his cheekbone and crushed an eye socket. The plaintiff holds Goodman and Does 1 through 100 responsible because the defendants allegedly attacked the plaintiff despite having no provocation from the plaintiff's part.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks general damages of more than $75,000, economic damages, punitive damages, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by Michael J. Avenatti and Carlos X. Colorado of Eagan Avenatti LLP in Newport Beach.
