LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles corporation alleges other companies have manufactured and sold garments that use a similar design to plaintiff's fabrics.
Star Fabrics Inc. filed a complaint on Oct. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against National Stores Inc., Evolve Apparel LLC, Urban Suburban Inc. and Does 1 through 10, citing copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business. The plaintiff holds National Stores Inc., Evolve Apparel LLC, Urban Suburban Inc. and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly distributed garments bearing plaintiff's designs.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, award all profits to plaintiff, statutory damages, all legal fees and interest and any other relief the court deems just.
