Innovative Artists Talent and Literary Agency Inc. accused of illegally distributing movies

LOS ANGELES – A Burbank corporation alleges its movies were illegally distributed by Santa Monica businesses.

Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. filed a complaint on Oct. 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against Innovative Artists Talent and Literary Agency Inc., Innovative Artists, Innovative Artists LLC, and Innovative Artist Talent and Literary Agency N.Y. Inc. alleging violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendants operate an illegal digital distribution platform. The plaintiff holds Innovative Artists Talent and Literary Agency Inc., Innovative Artists, Innovative Artists LLC, and Innovative Artist Talent and Literary Agency N.Y. Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly used illegal ripping software to make copies of plaintiff's movies and distributed the copies through their distribution platform.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, profits, statutory damages, permanent injunction against the defendant, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Kelly M. Klaus and Allyson R. Bennett of Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP in Los Angeles.
