Feds allege more than $16,000 is owed by man on student loans

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County man is alleged to have defaulted on his student loans.

United States of America filed a complaint on Oct. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Andrew G. Torres alleging that the individual failed to settle his debt with plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Torres failed to pay the principal amount of his debt plus interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $8,178.23 plus interest of $16,975.25 with interest accruing thereafter at 8 percent, administration charges of $54.10, plus all legal fees. It is represented by Kathryn E. Van Houten of Irsfeld, Irsfeld & Younger LLP in Glendale.
