VBConversions LLC accuses Rihani International of copyright infringement over software use

LOS ANGELES – A Santa Monica company alleges that a Rhode Island company hacked and used its software.

VBConversions LLC filed a complaint on Nov. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Rihani International Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that VBConversions LLC suffered damages to its business. The plaintiff holds Rihani International Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly gained unauthorized access to its software program and copied, adapted and distributed it without permission.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendant, pay all damages to the plaintiff plus interest, compensation of at least $150,000, statutory damages, actual damages, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief as the court deems just.
