Neman Bros. & Associates alleges Wal-Mart sells clothing with infringing design

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles company alleges an Arkansas-based big box store sells garments that use its designs without authorization.

Neman Bros. & Associates Inc. filed a complaint on Nov. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business. The plaintiff holds Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly imported and distributed at their retail stores garments that infringe plaintiff's designs.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, award all losses to the plaintiff, statutory damages, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by C. Yong Jeong, Amy J. Choe and Ryan N. Ostrowski of Jeong & Likens LC in Los Angeles.
