LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles company alleges its textile designs were copied and used without its permission.
Couture Textile Inc. filed a complaint on Nov. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Baldwin Sun Inc., doing business as G Collection; Ross Stores Inc.; and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business as the result of its fabric designs being copied. The plaintiff holds Baldwin Sun Inc., Ross Stores Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly incorporated plaintiff's designs into their garments and then sold them to consumers.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendant, award all profits to the plaintiff, statutory damages, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by C. Yong Jeong and Amy Choe of Jeong & Likens LC in Los Angeles.
