Film Musicians Secondary Markets Fund alleges it is owed more than $17,000 for contributions

Contract 01

LOS ANGELES – The executive director of an Encino-based labor union alleges a Los Angeles County employer did not pay its employee contributions.

Kim Roberts Hedgpeth, in her capacity as executive director, and the Film Musicians Secondary Markets Fund filed a complaint on Nov. 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Kings Road Entertainment Inc. and Does 1 through 10 alleging breach of contract, accounting and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages on behalf of the employee fund from late paid and unpaid fringe benefits. The plaintiff holds Kings Road Entertainment Inc. and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff for the monthly benefit contributions of their employees and denied the plaintiffs access to books and records.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages of $17,077.74, payment of any accounts found due, allow the plaintiff to gain access to defendant's books and records, liquidated damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Brian L. Cella and James D. Luhmann of Cella Lange & Cella LLP in Walnut Creek.
