CALIFORNIA — An author is suing Amblin Partners LLC and Amblin Reliance Productions LLC, a California corporation, citing alleged copyright infringement.
Bernie Unrau filed a complaint on Nov. 30, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Amblin Partners LLC, Amblin Reliance Productions LLC alleging that the California corporation infringes plaintiff's work.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages from having his work used without being paid a license fee. The plaintiff holds Amblin Partners LLC and Amblin Reliance Productions LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly produced a film ("Jurassic World") that contains a similar expression as plaintiff's work.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendant from further infringing plaintiff's copyrights, actual damages and profits in excess of $5 million, payment of damages to the plaintiff, all legal fees and a interest plus any other relief as this court deems just.
