Knitwork Productions Corp., Ross Stores Inc. alleged to have unlawfully used textile design

LOS ANGELES – Two companies are accused of using a copyrighted fabric pattern in garments without permission.

Urban Textile Inc. filed a complaint on Dec. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Knitwork Productions Corp.; Ross Stores Inc. doing business as DD's Discounts; and Does 1-10 citing copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff owns design UB-4492. The plaintiff holds Knitwork Productions Corp., Ross Stores Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly sold garments using fabrics that feature plaintiff's design without permission.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, award all profits to the plaintiff, statutory damages, all legal fees and interest, plus any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by C. Yong Jeong and Amy Choe of Jeong & Likens LC in Los Angeles.
