Roland Holdings files suit over use of its Casa Aramara mark

Trademark 04

SAN DIEGO – A hotel services company alleges another company attempted to register its trademark.

Roland Holdings LLC filed a complaint on Dec. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California against the Coral Street Holdings LLC and Does 1-10 alleging unfair competition and trademark infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2015, it discovered that the defendants obtained U.S. trademark registration for the mark Casa Aramara for hotel-related products such as clothing. The plaintiff holds Coral Street Holdings LLC and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly violated plaintiff's rights in the mark, attempted to trade on and receive the benefit of the plaintiff's goodwill.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants, enjoin defendants from further infringement of the mark, from registering or maintaining infringing trademark, destroy all infringing signs or materials, cancel defendant's registrations, treble damages, attorneys’ fees, costs and fees, interest and further relief as the court deem just. It is represented by Kent M. Walker of Lewis Kohn & Walker LLP in San Diego.
