LOS ANGELES – A Glendale employer is facing a suit from several trustees of labor union funds alleging it owes unpaid employee contributions.
Trustees of the Southern California Pipe Trades Health and Welfare Trust Fund; Trustees of the Southern California Pipe Trades Pensioners and Surviving Spouses Health Fund; et al. filed a complaint on Dec. 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Techno-Advanced Inc. alleging breach of collective bargaining agreement and breach of contract.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered damages due to unpaid and late paid contributions. The plaintiff holds Techno-Advanced Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly breached their bargaining agreement with the plaintiff by failing to pay their fringe contribution on behalf of their employees.
The plaintiffs seek unpaid contributions in the amount of $32,043.92, liquidated damages of $13,431.21, interest at the rate of 18 percent per annum, $3,847.14, late fees of at least $1,200, special damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just.
