Man seeks disability benefits he alleges were wrongfully denied to him

Insurance 09

LOS ANGELES COUNTY – A Los Angeles County man alleges his claim for long-term disability benefits was denied.

Albert Andrews filed a complaint on Dec. 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against The Prudential Insurance Co. of America, Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. Health and Welfare Benefits Plan citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he became disabled and applied for long-term disability benefits in 2015 but was denied. The plaintiff holds The Prudential Insurance Co. of America and Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. Health and Welfare Benefits Plan responsible because the defendants allegedly upheld their decision to deny plaintiff's disability benefits despite several appeals.

The plaintiff seeks payment of disability benefits due, underpaid long-term disability benefits, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Glenn R. Kantor, Corinne Chandler and Andrew M. Kantor of Kantor & Kantor LLP in Northridge.
