LOS ANGELES – A Canoga Park woman alleges a company she has never done business with keeps calling her to solicit its services.
Jackie Winters filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on Dec. 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Loandepot.com LLC and Does 1 through 10 citing the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in November 2015, she suffered damages from receiving unwanted telephone calls on her home phone from the defendant in its attempt to solicit its services. The plaintiff holds Loandepot.com LLC and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly kept on calling the plaintiff's telephone despite the number being registered in the National Do-Not-Call registry since July 2003.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks $500 in statutory damages, treble damages of $1,500 all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Todd M. Friedman, Adrian R. Bacon and Meghan E. George of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman PC in Woodland Hills.
