LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles retailer is accused of selling counterfeit water pipes and accessories.
Sream Inc., doing business as RooR USA, filed a complaint on Dec. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against R. Babu Enterprises Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging trademark infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Sream Inc. is the exclusive licensee for RooR products in the U.S. The plaintiff holds R. Babu Enterprises Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly distributed counterfeit goods bearing RooR marks without consent, license or approval.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages of up to $2 million, profits, all legal fees plus interest, disgorgement, treble damages, exemplary and punitive damages and any other relief as the court deems just.
