Inland Empire Health Plan faces suit from former call center employee alleging unpaid overtime

LOS ANGELES – A former call center worker has filed a class-action suit over allegations she was not compensated for overtime work.

Valeria Bordes filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on Dec. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Inland Empire Health Plan and Does 1-10 citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours per week without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds Inland Empire Health Plan and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff any overtime premium at a rate of time-and-one-half for hours worked that exceeded 40.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just.
