LOS ANGELES – A Ventura County individual has filed a class-action suit over allegations that a marketing company contacted her without her permission.
Vanessa Garcia filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on Jan. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Signpost Inc., Does 1 through 10 alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in March 2016, she suffered damages from receiving unwanted calls and being charged for those calls on her cellular telephone. The plaintiff holds Signpost Inc. and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly kept on calling the plaintiff using an automatic telephone dialing system despite having no consent from the plaintiff to make those calls. She alleges has never provided her information to the defendant.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks $500 in statutory damages, $1,500 in treble damages, and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Todd M. Friedman, Meghan E. George and Adrian R. Bacon of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman PC in Woodland Hills.
