LOS ANGELES – A Pennsylvania company alleges its blanket design was unlawfully copied by a Los Angeles County company.

Blankie Tails Inc. filed a complaint on Jan. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Posh Peanut Inc., Fiona Sahakian and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business as the result of its shark tail blanket design being copied. The plaintiff holds Posh Peanut Inc., Sahakian and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly manufactured and distributed via online retailers its products that copies plaintiff's design.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendants from further infringing plaintiff's copyrights, award all profits to the plaintiff, exemplary and statutory damages, all legal fees plus interest and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott A. Burroughs, Trevor W. Barrett and Justin M. Gomes of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
