SAN FRANCISCO – An Oakland individual claims a debt collector contacted her without her consent.

Shalandra Cotton filed a complaint on Jan. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Wells Fargo Bank N.A. alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages from receiving several collection calls from the defendant. The plaintiff holds Wells Fargo Bank N.A. responsible because the defendant allegedly kept on calling the plaintiff using an automatic telephone dialing system without her prior express consent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages of $500, statutory damages of $1,000, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Trinette G. Kent of Lemberg Law LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
